As a participant in the educational voyage towards excellence, I truly believe that all children have the ability to learn and that there are different techniques to explore in order to provide a learning environment capable of reaching different learning styles. As an educator, I believe in differentiated instruction. That is, an atmosphere, which accommodates all the various needs of all the children, I teach. The best approach in differentiating my instruction is to adopt a child-centered, risk free environment. By doing so, students can develop, learn, and grow at their own individual pace. Through my experiences as an educator, I have found this type of environment elevates a child’s self esteem, meets individual needs, and makes learning a fun and exciting experience for each and every child.
As we all begin to look ahead to the future, changes are being made in every aspect of life. Many of these changes are being made to adjust to new innovative technologies to ensure that graduates coming out of the American school system are able to compete with increased international standards. To help your child meet these new standards, it’s necessary to use as many resources as possible in order to help students achieve current and future goals. It is my goal to build your child’s educational experience by using an integrated and standards based curriculum. I will do this by using a variety of teaching methods such as learning centers, literature circles, hands on experiences and cooperative learning while building and modeling a respectful, caring and supportive environment. Having these structures in place provides students with a creative, stimulating and rewarding means of learning. In addition, they will work together with their peers, which will help build respect and teamwork.
As an educator, I will emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, and encourage group participation which will obtain high achievers in all the different areas of learning. |
